The Department for Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities are consulting on secondary legislation under the Building Safety Act 2022. One consultation covers 'implementing the new building control regime for higher-risk buildings and wider changes to the building regulations for all buildings', and the other looks at 'the in-occupation regime for occupied higher-risk buildings'.
Tpas have been involved in the DLUHC's Residents' Advisory Panel, and have been consulted on topics regarding Building Safety, aiding in the development of the Building Safety Bill.
As a part of their consultation on the in-occupation regime for occupied higher-risk buildings, the DLUHC is asking residents of higher-risk buildings to contribute to the consultation by filling out a questionnaire online. We’d suggest that any residents with lived experience of high-risk buildings or anyone with an interest, share their thoughts by completing the consultations. The questionnaire can be found here.
The DLUHC are keen to gather a wide range of views to support their policy development process. The responses to this consultation will be used to help develop the content of regulations.
The deadline for responces is October 12th, 2022.
