We are delighted to welcome our Board members and our new Chair
Tpas Chair
Alison Inman
Alison Inman has been appointed as the new independent Chair of Tpas. Alison is well known to Tpas members having served on the board as an independent member. Alison can bring much needed continuity to the board as we move through a period of change and new challenges. Alison is a highly respected critical friend to the sector and will ensure Tpas members are represented at the highest levels. She will play a pivotal role in the organisation’s future as demand for its services, consultancy, training and expertise continues to grow.
Alison is a former president of the Chartered Institute of Housing and is also a board member at Saffron Housing Trust, in addition to being co-founder of social housing campaign group, SHOUT.
“It is an honour to be stepping into the role of Chair at Tpas having been part of the organisation’s growth over recent years.
Like all of us here at Tpas, I am a firm believer that when the voice of the tenant is heard, social housing works better. This has been one of my values for many years and I’ll continue to be a vocal champion of tenant involvement as I take on this role.”
Billy Brown
Billy is a tenant with Southern Housing, one of the largest housing providers in the country, with over 77,000 homes across London, the Southeast, the Isle of Wight, and the Midlands. Billy Chairs their Resident Strategy Group.
“I believe my values and personal mission closely align with Tpas. I look forward to combining my skills, experience, and knowledge to be a guardian for your values and to ensure the future success of the organisation for all members.
The social housing movement and business model is a force for good and something truly inspiring to me. I am passionate about preserving and championing the cause for future generations and closing the gap in standards and opportunities between people on lower incomes and the disparity between the social and private sectors, that is why I want to be an advocate for the sector and the people inside it. Tpas is the perfect platform to do this.”
David Hampton
David is a tenant with Southway Housing Trust based in Manchester. He is Vice Chair of the Board at Southway and a People and Places Committee member.
“As a housing association tenant, I want to ensure tenants have a powerful voice in shaping landlord services. As tenant voice becomes more prominent, Tpas has a crucial role in bringing landlords and tenants together to drive improvements and provide mutually beneficial solutions. I want to be an active participant on the Tpas Board to bring about these positive outcomes.”
Claire Wright
Claire is a landlord representative onto the Tpas board. Claire has over 18 years’ experience in the sector and works for Flagship Housing as their Director for Digital and Customer Experience.
“The work Tpas do is invaluable, affording so many tenants a stronger voice, striving for better standards and creating a sector that listens. I am delighted about this exciting new opportunity to work with an organisation with such an important purpose, agenda and wide reach.”
Amy Smith
Amy is the Partnership Director for Wates and joins the Tpas Board as an independent representative.
“Becoming a Tpas Board member will give me the platform to apply the skills and experience I have gained during my career in main contracting, within a different setting.
I enjoy my role at Wates very much and I would like the opportunity to make a difference in another organisation.
Through my 27 years of working within the Social Housing Sector I am very familiar with Tpas and the work of improving tenant engagement standards across the country, and I want to contribute to that.”
