Brighton Housing Trust joins Tpas

Introducing our newest member
Brighton Housing Trust’s (BHT) mission is combating homelessness, creating opportunities and promoting change. BHT is both a homelessness charity and a housing association combined with a strong belief in providing social and affordable housing. They have 472 properties of supported, social and private rented sector housing in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings.
BHT joined Tpas to empower tenants and staff with training, expertise and networking opportunities; and a chance to get their voices heard on a national level to help influence housing policy. They are keen to access development opportunities as part of their membership and be inspired by other tenant groups and housing associations as to how they overcame barriers and successfully embedded tenant involvement within their organisations.
Tenant engagement is important to BHT as it helps design and improve services tenants want and need; builds trust; empowers tenants; increases transparency and value for money; and improves both tenant and staff satisfaction. Tenant engagement in social housing is important because it ensures tenant views are heard and taken into account when planning and delivering services, building communities, empowering them as individuals and shaping housing policy on a national level.
We look forward to working with and supporting Brighton Housing Trust over the coming year.
