Good news about Trafford Hall
Thursday 10th of December 2020
We're pleased to hear about the future of Trafford Hall being secure. Take a look at this letter which we've been sent and asked to share
Trafford Hall’s Future
We are thrilled to announce that on Friday, 11th December the National Communities Resource Centre (NCRC) at Trafford Hall will become part of the Regenda Group. This will allow work on restoring Trafford Hall to begin in January, with the intention that we will be ready to open by Easter 2021.
The National Communities Resource Centre will continue to operate from within Trafford Hall, helping low income communities, frontline staff, and decisionmakers to take self-help action to tackle problems in their communities. Our mission is unchanged: NCRC aims to close the inequality gap that exists in communities across the UK by providing training, support and resources for those people living and working in low income neighbourhoods, to inspire a culture of problem-solving and self-help in low income communities.
We will be working in a new, post-pandemic era. We count on you as our partners, supporters, and friends, to help us make a success of this new beginning for Trafford Hall and NCRC.
We want to thank Cheshire West and Chester Council for supporting us during the period of forced closure and Cheshire Connect for opening the door to many local supporters. We also want to thank the John Laing Charitable Trust, Igloo Regeneration, the National Housing Federation, the Chartered Institute of Housing, and many housing associations and community groups for their support during this time. We particularly want to thank the Regenda Housing Group for agreeing to make us part of their organisation. We are very lucky to have their support and are very proud to become a member of the Regenda Group.
We are very pleased that we were able to keep the Housing Plus Academy going throughout this period by temporarily moving to the London School of Economics and then online when the pandemic hit. It will move back to Trafford Hall as soon as we reopen. We will also be launching an Energy Plus Academy to help communities take action on climate change, energy saving, and fuel poverty. We will continue and hopefully extend our work with families and young people, in partnership with Healthbox, and will continue our training programme for tenants. We also hope that external organisations will come and use our beautiful meetings rooms and grounds to host as many workshops and events as possible at the Hall.
We look forward to welcoming you to Trafford Hall in 2021. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss how we can support your organisation, community, or group, and about how you can support us going forward.
With all good wishes for 2021 and with sincere thanks for your support over many years.
Yours,
Professor Anne Power
Chair, National Communities Resource Centre
