New Chair of Tpas announced

Wednesday 15th of June 2016

Tpas, the tenant engagement experts, have named John Giesen as their new chair.

Until recently John was the Chief Executive of B3 Living, based in Hertfordshire and a board member of Placeshapers.

Tpas chief executive Jenny Osbourne said “We’re delighted to appoint John as our new Chair. John’s indepth housing knowledge and commitment to engagement makes him an excellent choice to lead Tpas through an important phase of transformation and growth amid unprecedented political and economic change in housing. John’s experience of leading a housing organisation, coupled with his passion for equality and diversity, make him strongly placed to work in partnership with me and the board to deliver our ambitious plans to ensure Tpas remains a strong advocate for effective partnership working between tenants, landlords, suppliers and government. His appointment is the culmination of the development of our governance at Tpas and John’s role will be a key part of the successful delivery of our new three year business plan and our vision for the future where we will be looking to expand and grow our engagement offer in housing, communities and associated sectors.

Speaking about his appointment, John said: “'I am really pleased to be joining Tpas at such an exciting time. It's really important for all residents; communities and landlords to work together to improve the chances of the individual and to benefit the whole community in which people live. Tpas has a great tradition and reputation in helping both residents and landlords and I'm sure this will continue.'

John replaces Steve Meakin, MBE, who has served as chair of the board since 2013. John said “I know the hard work and dedication that Steve put in to help get Tpas where it is and I'll do my best to sustain his legacy'
