Tpas Grenfell Statement - 5th September 2024

Yesterday saw the publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase Two Report.
There is a huge amount to take in from the document and we will engage with members once we’ve had the opportunity to reflect on the findings in full.
What is clear is that this is a truly heartbreaking and sobering read for everyone living and working in social housing.
When trust collapses between landlords and tenants, and when the voices of people living in social housing are left unheard, there are consequences – in this case, they were deadly.
Our hearts go out to all the survivors and bereaved families and our thoughts will always be with them.

Tpas England Calls for Increased Partnership in Tackling the Housing Crisis

Tpas, England’s largest member organisation for tenant engagement, is urging the incoming government to adopt a renewed partnership approach in the housing sector with the launch of its Tpas Asks campaign.
The campaign calls for action in four key housing areas: Tenant Voices, Warm, Decent Homes, Tenant Rights and Rents, and outlines the critical measures that the incoming government must address in these areas to effectively tackle the ongoing housing crisis.

Longleigh Foundation has published their final report on the provision of floor coverings at the point of let in social housing.
They were shocked to find that an estimated 760,000 adults in UK social housing may be living without floor coverings, equating to as much as 15% of social housing households.
