AM1: Delivering Scrutiny Excellence: This session will share Southern Housing's Scrutiny journey with you, as together with Tpas Consultancy Manager, Gill Mclaren, they look to take their Scrutiny to the next level with Tpas's brand new Scrutiny Quality Mark.

AM2.  Scrutiny and Social Housing Stigma. Suitable for new or experienced scrutineers – this session looks at how to develop a scrutiny project to stop social housing stigma, including respect and culture. It will explain what scrutiny is and explore some different options to undertake a scrutiny project. It will also examine how scrutiny groups can use the stop the social housing stigma planner (and other tools) to co-design a plan to tackle stigma and ensure actions are taken in your locality.

AM3 Scrutinising the new Consumer standards: We know that Scrutiny has a huge part to play in the new regulatory world, so join Caritas Charles as he unpicks what this role might be and how Scrutiny can play a major part in ensuring the new consumer standards are met.

AM4 Good Habits for Effective Scrutineers: Join our favourite Scrutiny Geek Dr Dave McKenna as he shares with you the habits and behaviours we often see present in the most effective scruniteers. How many will you recognise? 

AM5 ChatGPT and Scrutiny –Become a "ChatGPT" ninja as AI expert Ian McLintock (via video link) walks you through all the essentials of ChatGPT so you can use it successfully. Louise Holt (Tpas) will then explore how we can use ChatCPT in the world of Scrutiny, and how it just might be that valuable tool you have been looking for.

AM6 Doing Scrutiny the Bootcamp way: Join Redkite Community Housing and Sam Goodwin Tpas Associate, as they spotlight their innovative and inclusive approach to Scrutiny. A great chance to gain first hand insight into this alternative Scrutiny method.

1.45PM           SCRUTINY WORKSHOPS

PM1. Scrutinising issues that matter now and, in the future: With so many important issues happening in housing how can you ensure scrutiny focusses on what really matters to tenants now and what will matter in the future. Be part of this fast-paced workshop session to explore and identify the big issues you need to be scrutinising. With David Lloyd Programme Director TPAS Cymru.

PM2. Practical skills for Scrutiny: Scrutineers know that Scrutiny requires a myriad of skills  including interviewing, report writing and presenting so why not brush up on them with this enagaging workshop facilitated by Tpas's Tonia Punter.

PM3. RAISE IT: Scrutiny the ForHousing way! Find out how ForHousing have changed their approach to Scrutiny and how their Raise It campaign has helped increase the number of tenants involved in scrutiny.  The session will cover the key changes they have made, how scrutiny exercises have been triggered and the benefits and lessons learned along the way.

PM4. Governance, Decision Making and Scrutiny: Andy Fry brings his wealth of expertise and knowledge to this session, exploring the importance of linking Scrutiny effectively to decision making and Governance, and how to do it successfully.

PM5 Scrutiny in Local Authorities - Given the political arena and the unique challenges faced by Local Authorties, how does Tenant led Scrutiny ensure it has a role and makes an impact? Join Caritas Charles (Tpas) as he examines this challenge, and shares some top tips and insight to help Local Authorties tenants maximise the power of scrutiny! 

PM6 Tracking the impact of your Scrutiny: We all know how important Scrutiny is in terms of service improvement and accountability but can we evidence the difference it makes? Sam Goodwin (Tpas Associate) will delve into this issue and provide some useful guidance to help you answer that "So What" question!

3.15pm            SCRUTINY SHOWCASE– Chaired by Dr Dave McKenna

Back by popular demand, we end our conference with some peer-to-peer learning! Our showcase session puts Tenants, Residents, Customers and Staff on centre stage to share their scrutiny tips, approaches, and success stories with you. A great chance to see what others are doing and celebrate all that is good about scrutiny. We will also have time for some audience participation, so join us in creating a real feel-good vibe to wrap up this year's conference with!

About the Venue

Located on Loughborough University's campus in the East Midlands, Holywell Park Conference Centre is easily accessible by road, rail and air.   It is located just one mile away from junction 23 of the M1.

There is a substantial amount of free secure car parking next to the venue with over 1000 spaces available for vehicles.

Travelling by Rail

The venue is just three miles from Loughborough railway station, a 10 minute cab ride away or 20 minutes on a shuttle bus.

The centre is within easy reach of Loughborough railway station. The university shuttle bus service Kinchbus Number 7 runs every 10 minutes from the station with a stop located directly next to Holywell Park.
Taxis are available from the station with a journey costing around £8.
